Aims

The Computer Studies Curriculum aims at:

• arousing students’ interest in learning information technology
• building up students’ knowledge and skills in the application of information technology
• developing students’ computational thinking through coding activities and visual programing language
• enhancing students’ capability in information literacy
• developing students’ positive attitude in using Information Technology
• encouraging students to nurture a spirit of self-learning and develop generic skills

Overview

• Three stages in the Computer Studies Curriculum:

• 1^st stage, P.1-P2 students:
  learn about Microsoft Windows, basic computer operation, Microsoft Paint, unplugged coding and Scratch Jr

• 2^nd stage, P.3-P.4 students:
  learn about word processing, basic knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft PowerPoint, Scratch Jr and micro:bit

• 3^rd stage, P.5-P.6 students:
  learn about Microsoft Excel, Tinkercad, Scratch, micro:bit, and making "Smart Home" using micro:bit and its extensions as well as simple AI concept
   

• Focus on the appropriate attitude of using IT and Information Literacy
• Work on STEM projects with General Studies and Mathematics
